About All-steel tires

All-steel tires generally refer to all-steel truck radial tires.

The difference between all-steel tires and semi-steel tires:

All-steel tires refer to tires with steel wire layers on the tread and sidewalls; semi-steel tires refer to tires with only steel wire layers on the tread. How to distinguish can be done from the following aspects:

1. Identify the structural parameters of the tire side mark

STEEL layer (STEEL) and structural steel wire (STEEL) of STEEL layer and structural parameters of STEEL layer, if the sidewall structure does not contain steel wire layer, it is a semi-steel tire; if the sidewall structure contains a steel wire layer, it is an all-steel tire.

2. Identify from the model

Under normal circumstances, semi-steel tires are used for cars, SUVs, MPVs, light trucks, etc., and all-steel tires are generally used for other models. For example: trucks, buses, engineering vehicles, etc.

3. Identification of tire specification writing format

Common passenger car and passenger car tires are similar in size and style to 205/55R16, meaning a tire width of 205mm, a tire aspect ratio of 55, R for a radial tire, and 16 for a 16-inch wheel diameter. In this way, the tire specifications are all semi-steel tires;

There is also a specification similar to 185R14C or 185R14LT, which means the tire is 185mm wide, R is a radial tire, 14 is a 14-inch wheel diameter, and C or LT is a reinforced load-bearing tire, which is also a semi-steel tire, but He is a reinforced tire commonly used on small passenger cars and light trucks.

Except for the above tire specification format, other tire specifications are steel tires.

4. Press the side wall by hand to identify

The sidewall of the semi-steel tire does not contain a steel wire layer and is thinner, so the pressing is softer and a pit can be pressed down. On the other hand, the sidewall of all-steel tires contains a steel wire layer, and the steel wire layer is relatively thick, which makes it difficult to press down and cannot press down the next pit.

5. Most semi-steel tires are tubeless tires, and most all-steel tires have inner tubes.
